‘Finding Dory’ gets a new ending because of Seaworld documentary

It’s not often that animated films are thrust into the spotlight but when it’s a Pixar film there’s always going to be eyeballs.  It’s the exact reason the writers to Finding Dory have changed the films ending, ahead of 2015’s release.

Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s documentary Blackfish has garnered Seaworld a ton of negative attention for the abuse and mistreatment of Killer Whale’s kept in captivity.  The film has gotten so much negative attention that Pixar Animation Studios changed the film’s ending that was originally supposed to take place in a Seaworld-type environment.  According to the New York Times the film’s ending will now present the characters with the ability to leave the marine theme park instead of being held captive by it.

If you watch the trailer for Blackfish it’s not hard to see why Pixar chose to change some things.
