Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg were asked to write ‘Uncharted’ script

If you’re a video game fan, chances are you’ve played one of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted titles for the PlayStation 3.   If you’re a comedic movie buff, chances are you’ve seen a movie with Seth Rogen in it or a film written by Evan Goldberg.  What do the two have to do with each other?  Funny you might ask, friend.

In a recent interview with IGN, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg – who’s summer hit This Is The End is doing very well for itself – revealed that Naughty Dog (probably Sony) has approached the duo on numerous occasions to write a script for an Uncharted film.  It’s an odd match for sure, as neither Rogen or Goldberg have written anything other than comedies.  Stoner comedies to be exact.

If you remember back a couple of years ago, Sony hired David O. Russell to write and direct an Uncharted film with Mark Wahlberg and Robert DeNiro to star.   Well, that fell apart and it looked like an Uncharted film – much like just about every video game franchise – was not going to get made after much promise.

However, I feel that maybe the Rogen/Goldberg  team-up would be good for both an Uncharted film and video game adaptations in general.  As long as Seth Rogen isn’t starring in an Uncharted movie I’m down with just about anything.

More news as it comes in.
