John Noble up for villain role in ‘Star Wars Episode VII’

Posted: February 7, 2013 in Movies

It’s been a bunch of Star Wars news around here the past couple of days, but for good reason.  Last week we learn that JJ Abrams will be directing Episode VII, then yesterday we get the news that Star Wars stand alone films will center around Han Solo and Boba Fett, now we’re getting Ep. VII villain news.

According to an Australian radio host (yep, I went there) is claiming “on good authority” that John Noble (The Lord of the Rings, Fringe) is up for the villain role in Star Wars Episode VII.   Noble is connected to director JJ Abrams due to both of their involvement on the FOX television series Fringe that ran for five years.

Nothing concrete other than this rumor.

In other news, Deadline is reporting that a source close to the Star Wars franchise at Disney has told them that Han Solo and Boba Fett project may not even happen.

“Nobody knows when these movies are even coming out. Right now, people are just kicking around ideas. Which is why you hear it’s Yoda one day and a young Han Solo another. It’s all in early development right now.”

Disney’s Bob Iger did state yesterday that the new trilogy of Star Wars films would be released in a six year window from 2015 on.

I’ll keep you posted.
