Scrooged is one of those films that you don’t think is going to be very good but turns out to be an excellent movie.  The film stars Bill Murray in a take on Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” set in modern day (80’s).  Murray plays Frank Cross, a greedy TV executive who only worries about himself.  Until one night he’s visited by three Christmas spirits.

You’ve heard the premise before but when Bill Murray is involved it’s a little bit different.  The film has a heart and Murray plays Cross perfectly like his middle name is Scrooge.  Karen Allen and John Forsythe costar in the film.

It’s not a film that everyone watches this time of the year and I seldom see it playing on TV but when I do catch it playing somewhere I always stop and watch.  I bet you didn’t know that Scrooged was nominated for an Oscar, did you?  Well, it was for Best Makeup but that’s neither here nor there.
