According to a report over at Deadline, AMC and Mark Strong are talks for the well known actor to star in the crime drama Low Winter Sun with co-star James Ransone.

The show will apparently be a re-imagining of the 2006 British miniseries of the same name, also starring Strong.  Strong will reprise his role as detective Frank Agnew, this time the setting will be in Detroit, Michigan.  The show will follow Agnew after he murders a fellow Detroit police officer and how that deed tears his life apart.

James Ransone will play the role of Damon Callis, a member of the underground Detroit crime syndicate.  You may recognize Ransone from HBO shows The Wire (where he played the character Ziggy Sabotka) and Treme.

Mark Strong is known for his roles in Green Lantern and Kick-Ass.

You can go ahead and add Low Winter Sun to AMC’s already stellar line-up that consists of The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Killing, and Hell on Wheels.
