The Weekend Box Office – ‘The Hunger Games’ Finally Falls

Posted: April 22, 2012 in Movies

After nearly an entire month on top of the box office rankings it’s my sad duty to report that two completely shitty movies beat The Hunger Games to the top two spots this weekend at the box office.  The “comedy” Think Like A Man took the top spot away from the futuristic thriller reeling in $33 million (seriously you guys?) and Zac Efron’s stupid romance The Lucky One came in runner up style with nearly $23 million.

The Hunger Games still managed a respectable $14 million in the number three spot bringing its domestic total to over $350 million.  The fourth and fifth spot were occupied by Chimpanzee and The Three Stooges which took home $10 million and $9 million respectively.

Here is the full top 10:

* Numbers in millions* (TOTAL)

1) Think Like A Man – $33 (NEW)

2) The Lucky One – $22.8 (NEW)

3) The Hunger Games – $14.5 ($356.9)

4) Chimpanzee – $10.2 (NEW)

5) The Three Stooges – $9.2 ($29.3)

6) The Cabin in the Woods – $7.7 ($26.9)

7) American Reunion – $5.2 ($48.3)

8) Titanic 3D – $5 ($52.8)

9) 21 Jump Street – $4.6 ($127)

10) Mirror Mirror – $4.1 ($55.2)
