Box Office Numbers – And You Doubted Katniss?

Chalk up making $300 million in three weeks to the list of feats that The Hunger Games has accomplished in its nearly month long stay atop the box office rankings for the months of March and here into April.   The Hunger Games took the number one spot in this weekend’s box office rankings, and while the movie’s numbers were down nearly 43% from last weekend, the film still managed to make nearly $34M, surpassing the $300M mark.

The number two film this weekend was American Reunion, which after a strong push Friday and Saturday, beat out the 3D re-release of James Cameron’s Titanic, which took the #3 spot, collecting $21.5 and $17.3 respectively.

Rounding out the top 5 at the box office this weekend were Wrath of the Titans and Mirror Mirror, banking $15M and $11M respectively.
