FOX Cancels ‘Terra Nova’ – Are You Surprised?

Posted: March 6, 2012 in Television

When FOX was promoting their new show Terra Nova before they aired the pilot episode last summer you could already tell the show was either going to be a massive hit or a massive miss.  As it turns out, it was a massive miss.  In my opinion the show just came off as a Avatar-ish knock-off with cheesy CGI effects.  The writing was terrible and the entire cast consisted of the most wooden actors you could ever come across.  So it’s no surprise that FOX has now cancelled the show.

However, if you’re one of the three people on the planet that are upset over this little bit of news…not to fret!  Deadline is reporting that the show’s producers are currently shopping the television show around to other networks in hopes that someone will pick it up (looking at you SyFy…).  I won’t go as far as saying that show shouldn’t be shopped around because the recent track history of shows switching networks is a rather good one.  Take Southland for example, while it was a good show on NBC it didn’t attract viewers and ultimately got cancelled.  TNT picked up the show for its second season, wrote it more edgy, and put it in a non-obscure timeslot, and it’s now blossomed into a five season stud of a television drama.  One of the best on TV, for sure.

So maybe all Terra Nova needs is some new writers and a more dedicated following and perhaps three seasons from now we’ll be talking about Terra Nova being the new Stargate SG-1?  Anything is possible.
