Welp, it’s that time again boys and girls.  You guessed it!  It’s new DVD Tuesday!  Hooray!  *confetti from the ceiling, gigantic electronic billboard flashing “you win!” Charlie Sheen getting drunk and doing coke off your coffee table!*

Here’s what’s new out on DVD and Blu-ray:

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1

Synopsis: In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), plus those they love, must deal with the chain of consequences brought on by a marriage, honeymoon, and the tumultuous birth of a child…which brings an unforeseen and shocking development for Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). — (C) Summit Entertainment

Cast: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner

Rating: PG-13

Mark’s Review Score:  3.6 (25% RT, 4.7 IMDB)

Mark’s Review: Yay!  Now everyone can revel in the mediocrity and melodrama that is the Twilight film franchise.  Ok, so the world fell in love with the books and then some smart ass decided it would be a good idea to make movies out of them.  And then an even bigger smart ass decided to get the world’s two worst actors to play the lead roles.  It’s like Summit Entertainment is trolling Twilight fans.  What the fuuuuuu?  Anyways, Breaking Dawn – Part 1 can best be summed up as a movie only the die-st of Twilight die-hards could love.  It’s devoid of emotion (something that the whole movie prides itself on), full of terrible acting, and the CGI is just as bad.  Bleh.  It still made a shit ton of money though!

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas

Synopsis: Following years of growing apart, Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold’s house ends with the “high grade” contents-and Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree-going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven-and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high. — (C) Warner Bros

Cast: Kal Penn, John Cho, Neil Patrick Harris

Rating: R

Mark’s Review Score: 6.7 (69% RT, 6.6 IMDB)

Mark’s Review:  Watch it blazed.  That is all.

The Sunset Limited

Synopsis: A God-fearing ex-con (Samuel L. Jackson) saves a despondent college professor (Tommy Lee Jones) from throwing himself in front of a speeding subway train, and struggles to comprehend the suicidal man’s unwavering despair during a series of intense philosophical debates. Adapted from the play by Cormac McCarthy (All the Pretty Horses, The Road). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Cast: Samuel L. Jackson, Tommy Lee Jones

Rating: Unrated

Review Score: 7.4 IMDB

Mark’s Review: So this is a movie about Tommy Lee Jones, playing a down on his luck college professor, and Samuel L. Jackson, an ex-con, living in an apartment together debating the meaning of life?  Holy shit, where can I buy this movie right now!?!?  “Say ‘what’ one more fucking time!  I dare you!  Say ‘what’ one more mother fucking time!!”

and just for kicks…
